HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GET MY NEW MOBILE NUMBER?
We will send you a welcome pack including your SIM card (with your new number on it) by Special Delivery Next day, once payment has been received in full.
WHAT IS A SIM CARD?
A SIM card is a small card that you insert into your mobile phone. This card enables the mobile network to bill you for any services you use including making and receiving calls, texts, pictures and browsing the web.
I’M ALREADY IN A MOBILE CONTRACT DOES THIS MATTER?
If you are in a contract, you need to look for a new mobile number that is NOT on the same network. This is because you can only move a number to your existing mobile supplier from another network. You cannot replace your existing mobile number with a budget number with the same mobile network if you are in contract. You can however, do this if your contract is coming to an end.
HOW DO I MOVE MY NEW NUMBER ONTO MY CURRENT MOBILE NETWORK?
If you’re IN A CONTRACT
We will send you a welcome pack which includes your new mobile. All you need to do is phone the network provider register your details and ask for a PAC (Port Access Code) which most providers can give you on the same call. The PAC code authorises the transfer of your new mobile number onto another mobile network of your choice within 30 days. Once you have the code contact your current mobile network and give them the details and they will do everything else. The process normally takes a few days and then you can start using your new mobile number.
If you use PAY AS YOU GO (PAYG)
We will send you a welcome pack which includes your new mobile number attached to a SIM and all you need to do is phone the network provider and register your details. Then TOP UP the account with £5.00 or £10.00. This is VERY, VERY IMPORTANT as if you don’t do this your number wont be fully activated and you run the chance of losing your number.
DO I GET CHARGED TO MOVE MY NEW NUMBER?
NO, the mobile networks provide this service for FREE and it’s called porting.
IS THE NUMBER MINE FOR LIFE?
The simple answer is YES if you use it then it is this is of course providing that OFCOM don’t change the mobile numbers. If you are on PAYG you must send a MINIMUM of 1 TEXT or 1 CALL every 3 months even if you just use your phone to only receive calls, if you don’t then it has been know for mobile networks to take the number back and then you would lose it forever.
DOES IT COST PEOPLE MORE TO CALL MY NEW MOBILE NUMBER?
NO, nothing changes as calls made from both contract and PAYG to your new mobile number are charged to the caller at their usual tariff. The same applies to calls you make.
